When Is the Best Time to Visit Cancun?
December through April offers the driest weather and is peak season, with the biggest crowds and highest prices, especially around spring break in March.
May and November are solid shoulder-season options with lower prices and still-good weather; hurricane season runs June through November.
How Long Should You Spend in Cancun?
5–7 nights is the sweet spot for an all-inclusive resort stay, long enough to fully relax without needing much beyond the resort and one or two excursions.
Adding day trips to Chichen Itza, Isla Mujeres or Xcaret works well within a 7-night stay.
Getting Around Cancun
Most visitors don’t need a rental car — resorts are typically all-inclusive with everything on-site, and the local bus system (colectivos) covers the Hotel Zone cheaply.
For day trips to ruins or other regions, a tour or private transfer is usually easier than renting a car.
